Car door handle is broken, and i can't get it open to take the interior panel off.?

live in upstate new york, and it's been super cold lately. went to get into my car and the locks were frozen. i thought i had the driver side unlocked, but i apparently broke something pulling the handle. the door lock only turned halfway i guess. now the outside and inside handles on the driver side don't work. i'm ahhh, gonna need this door. i'm pretty handy mechanically, but i can't get the door open to pull the interior panel off and see what's up. any one got a solution?
