Highway miles?

I am checking out a 2002 suzuki axiom and it currently has about 116,000 miles on it($7500) . I need a car that is dependable and reliable and I am worried that this car may have to many miles on it. Some people are telling me this is not that much, however I come from the Virgin Islands where car mileage rarely get this high. Can someone please give me thier opinion on this issue.
