I really want to get a dog. Which type would you reccomend?

A lab is very playful and energetic but doesn't have that aggressive nature. Possibly a lab and German Shepard mix. I own that particular mix and she is like what you are wanting. But every dog is different and it is how you raise and train your dog. I will say that she is a one person dog like most German Shepard's tend to be...just be aware.
