Question about Christian marriage?

Marriage is nothing but a Man's law, there never was a need in the past to put it all on paper until ones who separated started seeing how devastating it was financially for both partners when there weren't any rules to make the separation "fair" so that both sides had a chance to "fight" for what they 'deserve." Therefore the governments stepped in and made up rules to help protect. A peace of paper stating you are married is just as strong as a restraining order...it means NOTHING, but "protects" withing the law of the land. The love professed between two individuals is what matters.
