What does "Would you like fries with that?" mean?

Unless they asked "Want some fries with that shake" <- hitting on you. Then they were just generally trying to be condescending, there aren't any hidden meanings in there that I've heard of. I would probably be bitter too if I worked at a fast food place all day for minimum wage.
