Where to meet girls besides bars and clubs?

It seems like the only , if I may, "prospects" that I meet are always from another state or are currently going to school/about to move to another state. I'm 20 so the good clubs and bars are not an option, being as most are 21+. I've tried match.com and other online personals, but they all seem to have the same people. They're either way out of my league (and I'm not going on looks but what they say they're involved in and have going for them). Or they are just down right ugly and yes appearance matters. Please there has to be other people in the same situation as me. Right? I know I'm sounding desperate and that's because I am. I'm tired of being alone, plain and simple.
